Community Transformation Hours

On June 6th I posted 6,913 hours for Community Transformation. I am waiting for hours to be submitted this week from Convoy of Hope efforts...stay tuned.

Kansas City Convoy of Hope - A HUGE success

During the rain, I kept thinking about the scripture that if you build your house on the Rock that it will stand. What is your house built from?

It was a tremendous blessing to be the Arrangements Coordinator for the event. God has placed some great people in my life, and I am excited to see what He's going to do next.

I pray that God will continue to put people in my life that want to see TRANSFORMATION in the lives around them, outreach does become contagious.

God has so many things in store for us, He is faithful to complete it!

Community Transformation Hours

We have 2,584 hours submitted, 17,426 to go.

If you have hours that you have served, don't forget to go online at www.lifequestchurch.tv, under the serve tab, log CT Hours.

Raymore Easter Egg Hunt

We had over 36 people from LifeQuest join in the fun at the Raymore Easter Egg Hunt. There were over 850 hard boiled eggs to color, several face painters, a tattoo artist (kid's easter tattoos) and popcorn for everyone.

The Mayor of Raymore commented to me, "I'm thankful that LifeQuest Church partners with the Parks and Rec to bring even more fun for the day".

Thank you to everyone who brought hard boiled eggs for the event, and for all the volunteers that showed up, treating the community as our guest of honor.

LifeQuest Church - You Rock!

Many Thanks!

What is Kansas City Convoy of Hope?
Churches across Kansas City , multiple corporate sponsors, and the Green Impact Zone (http://www.greenimpactzone.org) are partnering together to host a city-wide compassion outreach called, Kansas City Convoy of Hope.

Convoy of Hope (if you're not familiar with Convoy of Hope, you can get more information at http://www.convoyofhope.org). The event will be held on June 12, at Swope Park and will touch 8,000 – 10,000 people in Kansas City ’s urban core. This will be one of the single largest outreach events in KC’s history.

The event is designed to serve the needs of each guest, by treating them as the “Guest of Honor”. A million plus dollars in goods and services will be distributed at no charge, all with the intent to give hope and honor to those in need. The event will include the distribution of groceries, haircuts, job and health fairs, family portraits, live entertainment, a meal, and a carnival for children. This has incredible implications for touching people with God’s love in a practical way with no strings attached.

What is the Arrangements Team?
The Arrangements Team is responsible to obtain much of the large equipment and supplies needed for the outreach. Recruiting site set-up and clean-up volunteers to oversee those responsibilities, plus managing the Command Center on the day of the event.
At least one hundred volunteers are needed for site set-up on Thursday and Friday, June 10th & 11th. Projects include setting up fencing, chairs, tables, electrical power, promotional banners and signs, parking lots, special construction projects and much more.

Other volunteer opportunities are also available, I will be more than happy to share those with you. Also, you may choose to be a Connections church or business that chooses to financially support the event, this will not be discussed at the meeting. For sponsoring opportunities you can find out more details on sponsorship from the website at http://www.kansascityconvoy.org or feel free to email or call me at 816.645.5424 and I will connect you to the appropriate team.

Please prayerfully consider your participation for this exciting opportunity. Let’s partner together in our community to offer hope and most important, the love of Jesus Christ to those who are desperately seeking hope in this world.

Thank you for your consideration for this life-changing opportunity.

LifeQuest Church - 1st Annual Black Light Easter Egg Hunt

At 5PM on March 27th we held our first Black Light Easter Egg Hunt in the Northland. We filled 2,000 eggs with candy and wrapped with special neon black light tape. To enter the neon bliss, you had to crawl thru a maze and then 5 children had 2 minutes to collect at least 10 eggs.

We had great give-aways, popcorn, pink lemonade, Easter tatoos, and great fellowship.

The parents were excited to bring their children out for something new. One parent commented, I just had to come to see what it would be like. Thanks for bringing the kids out for a night of fun.

As I thought about the hunt and the whole concept of searching, I thought about the God-shaped hole that we have. What have you been searching for lately? Have you been searching for anything? What about your relationship with Jesus Christ? Has God been calling you to come up higher? If you would look back on your life from last year, have you grown, stayed the same, or possibly, are you further from God? I hope that you hear God calling you to come up higher today.

Transformation Story of the Week

Thank you Hancock Fabrics!

On Tuesday, February 23, my 15 year old son Jacob and I entered Hancock Fabrics in Belton, MO. Our mission...finding material to make another 68 blankets for Project Snuggle "Take Two".

I asked Jacob to go along, I thought it would be nice to have a youthful set of eyes picking out the fabric. We spent almost 3.5 hours with Kelly and Bonnie. They provided us with the best customer service. Bonnie was actually a Foster Parent years ago. She shared how much she loved being a part of the children's lives but it was heart wrenching to see what the children go through. I really enjoyed her sharing part of her journey with me. Kelly had a bad toothache, but that didn't stop her from smiling and cutting the 1.5 yards of fabric for the project.

Life is truly about relationships! I really enjoyed hanging out with these two ladies, and my son. A BIG Thank you to Kelly and Bonnie who worked so hard that night. They are now truly a part of Project Snuggle.

Also, a Big Thank you to my son who diligently worked so hard to help pick out the material, separate into boxes by age group, and load up the big green CT van.

A night to remember! When is the last time you were able to have a conversation with someone in a retail setting? Did you share a part of your life...building a relationship. How about asking them to come to church on Sunday?

Blankets for 68 children: $1,000.00
Accessories for making blankets: $25.00
A night spent with my teenage son: PRICELESS

Cost of blankets for Project Snuggle "Take Two"

Due to the Fabric sale and yardage used, you can adopt a child now for $15.00, instead of $25.00. Start adopting your child today.

Adopt children and commit to these children throughout the cycle of their stay with Children's Services. You could also commit to prayer for your adopted children. This could be a group effort each week, this would be great for Life Groups to get involved. Imagine what the power of prayer could do for these children.

How exciting, another 68 blankets to make.

Project Snuggle - Blankets Delivered

The blankets were delivered to the Department of Children's Services on Monday, Feb. 1. A huge thank you for all who contributed to this project. We still have $100.00 to collect for the material.

Understanding the opportunity

I hope that we at LifeQuest Church have really grasped the opportunity that has been given to us. We have a harvest field placed before us. We are able to reach across government boundaries to these children and families. How awesome for us to be faithful in little, so that we can be faithful in much.
